You’re My Obsession

Family and friends have been asking for quite some time when the sequel to Capture Cate will be released.  Well, the wait is finally over.  The revelation will hopefully be startling.

You’re My Obsession picks up where Cate’s story left off in the first installment. For anyone following her roller coaster life, she finally picked between Nathan and Leo.  The couple were what is referred to as “happy for now.”

Drama starts unfolding in the very first chapter.  Cate has never had it easy.  Someone is murdered.  Everyone seems to have a motive.  This is a real “whodunit.”

The book has been reduced in price to 99 cents from today, February 11 through February 18.

How Did Leo Get His Name?

leo princess(1)

For a special anniversary a few years back, I finally received my dream diamond ring, which is The Leo.  I decided on the princess cut diamond pictured above.  My original wedding set has a tiny little diamond, but still holds a special place in my heart.  I wear it around my neck suspended from a heart-shaped ring keeper.  I am, and will always be, a hopeless romantic.

When I started writing the book Capture Cate about five years ago, I named one of the romantic leads after my ring.  Leo Kensington was born.  He called Cate the nickname Princess, also after my ring.  Leo is dreamy and perfect.

The book originally had a different ending.  I took some advice from my son and changed a few details around.  I am so happy I did from my reader’s reactions.

My contemporary romance novel Capture Cate is available on Kindle from August 13 to August 20 for the reduced price of only 99 CENTS!!!

Nathan Reed’s Story

My readers have loved Nathan’s character so much that he now has his own short story. Capture Cate doesn’t really reveal much about his past, so now you will know more about what makes him tick.  Follow his life from the time his parents’ meet. Find out why they divorce and his mother ends up married to her new boss, Elliott Carlisle. Discover the earth shattering event that drives Nathan toward the dangerous career path of becoming a Navy Seal, and eventually an FBI agent. Hear his thoughts when he first encounters his new partner, Cate Collins, the woman who will ultimately end up changing his life.

Cate Meets Nate

Capture Cate

Cate Collins is paired with Special Agent Nathan Reed during her first field assignment with the FBI. All of her efforts since her parents died have been for only one thing.  This is a young woman who has worked hard for nearly the past ten years to achieve her ultimate goal of becoming a spy.  Now, she’s finally getting her chance and a good-looking guy is distracting her.

Nathan Reed’s story is very similar to Cate’s. He’s around the same age as she was when his dad dies. His only plan in life is to be like his father. A serious relationship is not in his cards. He chases bad guys for a living to make the world a better place.  He figures that one day he will die a hero in the line of duty, just as his father did.

Cate is instantly attracted to Nathan. She tries not to stare at him during their initial meeting. Nathan can’t keep his eyes off of Cate either. On their plane ride to New York City, he is too busy staring at Cate to pay attention to what she is saying.

Two people who have suffered a traumatic loss at such a young age are thrown together. There’s definitely chemistry between the two of them. Nathan uses his move on Cate, and he is shot down for the first time in his life. He’s not used to rejection. This makes him even more interested in pursuing her.

The Family Feud

Capture Cate

Cate Collins never had the opportunity to meet her grandparents until her parents’ tragic death. She had overheard bits and pieces of the long-standing squabble between her mother and grandfather by eavesdropping on her parents.  This was her first spy-like skill as a child.

Julia Hollingsworth was engaged to Howard Kensington when she first met  her future husband, Travis Collins. She married Travis a few short months after meeting him.  The couple both experienced what is commonly referred to as love at first sight.  Julia never returned home and officially broke off her engagement with Howard.  With her father’s mindset, he would probably have arranged for the marriage to be annulled anyway. Edward was determined that she was going to marry his best friend, Richard’s son from pretty much the moment they were born.  Edward could never get over what he considered his daughter’s betrayal.  How dare she marry a man he didn’t approve of first?  Travis wed his daughter without seeking his permission, even thought he knew it would never have been granted.

Edward was determined not to take in a child sired from two parents who obviously had no respect for him or his old-fashioned ways.  As Cate is eavesdropping yet again, she hears her grandfather profess that he doesn’t want her living with him.  Her grandmother is tougher than she looks.  She doesn’t back down, and Cate is allowed to remain in the mansion.
